From the Bride:
Choosing and trusting someone to make you look and feel your absolute best on one of the most important and best days of your life... scary! This was the hardest part in my planning process because I always do my own makeup and I'm not from the area. I researched several places online but decided to set up a trial with Love is in the Hair because of how elegant and professional they portrayed themselves, their experience, and prices. Michelle was great! I sent some pictures of ideas that I liked and she was able to see my vision! There were a few things I wanted different (bolder) and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all letting her know. She brought all of her supplies right to my suite on the morning of my wedding (professional and on time) and did both hair and makeup for my maid of honor and I. My maid of honor loved everything and couldn't believe how calm I was all morning. I owe that to Michelle, because to me hair and makeup is a big deal every day,so my expectations for that day were huge..Thank you, Michelle, for meeting all of them and more! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Love is in the Hair to any of my friends!
I dreamt of a wedding day that would be intimate and authentic, and that's exactly what it was. Twenty five of our closest family and friends sat above the beautiful Lake Tahoe on the pier of West Shore Café and Inn while we shared our vows. Our wedding party, just a maid of honor and best man, small guest list, and the natural beauty of Tahoe and surrounding mountains helped to maintain the focus on what a wedding should truly be all about.. the love shared between the bride and groom. We were truly able to focus on each other, thoroughly enjoy our first dinner as husband and wife, and spend quality time with each and every person present.
One of my favorite details is the significance behind our wedding date, May 10th, 2015. At almost the same time Matt proposed, I found out my mother had been diagnosed with terminal cancer. We chose the date because it sounded neat, 5/10/15, and it wasn't until my mom had passed away, shortly after, that we realized our wedding date was Mother's Day.... insert goosebumps here.
